Description
Constipation in children and adolescents can be a struggle for parents to treat. In addition to pain and discomfort when using the bathroom, missed school and increased doctors’ visits can interrupt a child’s quality of life.
A research study is evaluating a medication that is FDA-approved for adult constipation that may relieve symptoms of unexplained constipation in children and adolescents.
This research study may be an option if your child:
• Has been experiencing unexplained constipation for the past 2 months
• Weighs at least 39.6 lbs.
• Does not have celiac disease or inflammatory bowel disease
Other criteria apply.
Qualified participants will receive all study-related care and study medication or placebo at no cost.
