Description
The risk of stroke increases as you grow older, especially in people with undiagnosed atrial fibrillation (AFib), a common heart rhythm disorder.
A research study is evaluating whether screening for AFib reduces stroke risk compared to usual care.
This research study may be an option if you:
• Are covered by the original Medicare plan (also known as Fee-for-Service traditional Medicare)
• Do not have a known history of AFib
• Are not currently taking blood thinners (baby aspirin is allowed)
Other criteria apply. Please make sure to discuss with your physician a member of our research staff to ensure this research study is a good fit for you.
